HC-One’s
Pytchley Court care home in Brixworth, Northampton, was delighted to welcome Chris Heaton-Harris MP for Daventry who holds the post of Secretary of State for Northern Ireland, and Professor Martin Green OBE, the Chief Executive of Care England, to participate in Care Home Open Week 2023.
Running from 26th June to 2nd July, Care Home Open Week is a national event hosted by Championing Social Care that is designed to connect care homes with their local communities.
Pytchley Court, a 37-bed residential, dementia and nursing home run by HC-One, the UK’s leading care provider, was pleased to invite the wider Brixworth community to learn more about life in the care home with its ‘Celebrating Together’ theme for 2023’s event.
Throughout the week, Pytchley Court organised a variety of activities for Residents, families, Colleagues and visitors to enjoy, including live music and flower arranging. Visitors also enjoyed a tour of Pytchley Court to see its facilities, activities and care services, and heard from the care team about the rewarding career opportunities in the care sector.
Professor Green and Chris Heaton-Harris took the opportunity to meet Residents and their families and hear about what life is like at Pytchley Court care home. They were also shown around the home’s recently completed garden project, which has been created with help from volunteers at Moulton College, a local college for people with additional learning needs.
Sue Watson, Home Manager at Pytchley Court Care Home, said:
“We were delighted to open the doors of Pytchley Court care home again to welcome our local community and celebrate Care Home Open Week 2023. It was fantastic to invite Professor Green and Chris Heaton-Harris into our home and show them the fantastic projects we have been working on to ensure our Residents can live their best lives possible here at HC-One.
“We are proud to support Brixworth, and our Open Week celebrations provided a great opportunity to reconnect with our local community after the challenges of the pandemic, to support community engagement, and to remind our local community that our kind care teams are here if they ever need support for themselves or a loved one.”
Professor Martin Green, OBE, Chief Executive of Care England, commented:
“I really enjoyed my visit to Pytchley Court, and I was so impressed by the quality of care and the range of activities that the Residents were engaged in. Pytchley Court is a very special place, and it was very uplifting to see the commitment to personalised care and the connections with the local community.”
