HC-One’s support office in Darlington has raised an incredible £13,177.25 in aid of the Brain Tumour Research charity, in memory of a staff member’s partner.
Tracy Hardy who works at the support office in Southgate House as a Careline Team Leader, lost her partner of over 15 years, David Watson, to a brain tumour on the 8
th July 2022. Her team decided to rally round and raise funds in his memory.
The team have been participating in a number of fundraising activities and events to raise money for Brain Tumour Research.
Fundraising activities and events have taken place from June to July which have included:
- Wear a Hat Day, which involved Tracy’s colleagues in the Careline team baking cakes, scones and preparing cooked hot dogs to sell. The support office also held a raffle and various games, which residents from HC-One’s Beaconsfield Court care home in Barnard Castle also came along to take part in.
- The Careline team, as well as Tracy’s friends and family took part in a sponsored climb of Roseberry Topping.
- Tracy’s daughter also completed the muddy run in Newcastle and raised money for the cause.
The Brain Tumour Research charity aims to find a cure for all types of brain tumours and to increase the UK investment in brain tumour research.
