HC-One home celebrates success in the West Midlands Care Association Care Awards
Colleagues at HC-One’s Roxburgh House Care Home in Cradley Heath were celebrating this week as their beloved Maintenance Operative; Geoff Hamblett-Jones was declared the winner of the Excellence in Care Award for Support Staff at the West Midlands Care Association awards.

The WMCA Awards celebrate outstanding Care Colleagues in the West Midlands area.

Home Manager, Julie Jones had nominated Geoff as she felt he always gave his all and went all out for our Residents.

In her nomination, she stated:

“As registered manager of Roxburgh House, I have been managing and working alongside Geoff for just over 2 years. In that time I have consistently witnessed him going above and beyond what is expected of a MO. In 28 years of working in health and social care, I have never had the privilege of working with such a dedicated, caring and hardworking gentleman.”

After Geoff had been shortlisted to the final three, the team attended the WMCA Conference where it was announced that Geoff was the overall winner of the coveted prize.

Home Manager Julie commented:

“I couldn’t be more proud of Geoff! He always gives 100%, not just to Roxburgh House but our neighbours also. He deserved this recognition.”

On returning to the home, the rest of Geoff’s Colleagues were waiting with balloons, cards and presents to celebrate his achievement.

Roxburgh House is located in Reddal Hill Road and offers short and long-term care to elderly members of the community needing Residential and Memory Care.
