HC-One care homes participate in egg-citing Easter celebrationsHC-One care homes across the UK have been embracing the spirit of Easter with a variety of festive fun filled activities for residents, colleagues, relatives and local community.

From taking part in traditional egg hunts to bonnet-making crafts to hosting Easter fayres, Easter egg decorating, special lunches and live entertainment, the endless celebrations have brought joy and togetherness to their local communities.

Residents shared past Easter tradition stories, welcomed in their local communities, children and volunteers to join in the fun. The Easter celebrations fostered connection, creativity and joy, highlighting the value of community.

Residents at HC-One’s Ridgeway Lodge Care Home in Dunstable, Bedfordshire, embraced Easter festivities by creating vibrant Easter bonnets with decorations including chicks, eggs, carrots, flowers, bunnies and felt items during a recent arts and crafts session.

The bonnet-making activity sparked joy, creativity and community as residents displayed their finished unique designs, adorned with ribbons, flowers and spring flair, culminating in a joyful mini parade through the lounge with applause and laughter.

Michele Tricker, Home Manager at HC-One’s Ridgeway Lodge Care Home, said:
“Residents thoroughly enjoyed the Easter bonnet activity and loved showing their finished bonnet designs off to other residents afterwards. They are now proudly on display in the home for visitors to see. The finished results are fabulous, festive and downright egg-cellent!

“It was wonderful to see everyone so engaged and creative. Moments like these bring so much joy to the home – it really felt like spring had arrived.”

Resident Sheila Fearnley at HC-One’s Ridgeway Lodge Care Home, commented:
“I haven’t had this much fun with Easter accessories and decor since my school days!”

Colleagues at HC-One’s Ashington Grange Care Home, in Ashington, Northumberland, gathered Easter eggs to donate to Daft as a Brush Cancer Patient Care, a local charity providing free transport for cancer patients for their chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatment.

Ashington Grange collected 32 Easter eggs, and residents Irene Pringle, Carole Crate, Bernadette Miller and Alan Hermiston, with Wellbeing Coordinator Erica Stott, delivered them to Daft as a Brush Cancer Patient Care head office in Gosforth, Newcastle upon Tyne before Easter.

Erica Stott, HC-One’s Ashington Grange Wellbeing Coordinator, said:
“We are really proud of our colleagues at Ashington Grange who kindly donated Easter eggs to give to the Daft as a Brush Cancer Patient Care charity.

“It’s lovely to give something back to a local charity and it was our pleasure to hand over the Easter eggs to a great charity who we know make a massive difference within the local community.”
