HC-One care home worker celebrated at House of Commons exhibition A Colleague from HC-One’s Beauvale Care Home has been featured in a photography exhibition at the House of Commons, as part of a Department of Health and Social Care campaign.

Natalie Stones, who works full time at the care home in Bingham, was chosen to take part in the exhibition, with all portraits depicting care workers and the people they support each day.

The event at the House of Commons, attended by both Natalie and Beauvale’s Home Manager, was the culmination of the department’s Every Day is Different Campaign, launched to promote the varied ways people work in adult social care and the difference they make to vulnerable people’s lives.

Natalie has been a carer for more than 19 years, having promised her grandad she would care for him when he needed that support. This inspired her to go on to become a full time adult social care worker.

She has been a care worker at Beauvale Care Home for seven years. “I love the variety the work brings and meeting so many different people. My role is very rewarding and it’s nice to go home knowing you’ve made a difference to people.”

Natalie’s photos were taken with Resident Maurice, who have both known each other for many years. Prior to looking after Maurice, Natalie also cared for his wife who was also a Resident at the care home.

Minister for Care, Caroline Dinenage, said: “Adult social care is too often seen as the ‘Cinderella service’ to our NHS. I’m determined to change this perception, starting with our hardworking social care workforce.

“There is huge demand for more care professionals across the East Midlands who work incredibly hard to look after the most vulnerable people in our society. We must spread the word that careers in adult social care can be rewarding, varied and worthwhile. Care is a vocation where you can transform people’s lives and every day is different to the next.

“Our recruitment campaign will support care providers across the East Midlands, from Lincoln to Northampton, to recruit thousands more talented people. If you think a career in care could be for you, I urge you to look up the opportunities in your local area and become part of a vital and growing profession.”
