HC-One Care Home makes Residents Wish Come True HC-One’s Newlands care home in Stockport, had an unusual request from Resident Ann Evans, when she told them her ultimate wish would be to go ice-skating again.

The plucky pensioner was thrilled when home manager Lynne told her that Altringham Ice Rink had invited Ann to join them for a very special skating session.

In fact, they had arranged for Ann to be guided around the ice by Linden Springer, who plays in defence for the Manchester Storm Ice Hockey team.

Ann loved meeting Linden and once she was on the ice seemed right at home, even doing the “Bolero!”

Home manager, Lynne Anderson commented:

“When we had the Residents meeting Ann was the first to speak up. I just thought, let’s make a phone call and see what happens! It was lovely to see Ann doing her Bolero and enjoying every minute. Making wishes come true is a big part of our home and helps us provide the kindest possible care.”

Newlands Care Home is located in Stockport and offers long and short-term care to elderly members of the community needing Residential and Nursing care.
