Hayes care home welcomes local schoolchildren for interactive sessionChildren from Botwell House RC Primary School recently visited Aston House for another session in support of the interactive project that is ongoing within the home.

This week’s visit consisted of a mosaic art and craft session, as well as creating some items with the children, such as candle holders, and using interactive tablets to play games together, all of which Residents thoroughly enjoyed.

One Resident was originally nervous to participate, however, he soon began to become involved in the activities when one of the school children recognised his apprehension, and began speaking to him in a language he found comfort in – his native language of Polish, which led to a bond being developed with the children as he began to feel comfortable around the group.

Seema Jose, Home Manager, remarked: “Residents enjoy these regular interactive sessions as it encourages a positive change in atmosphere. The same group of children attend each session, so this helps Residents to remember them and become more comfortable around them. We are already looking forward to the next session soon!”

This is a fantastic representation of why these visits are so important to our Residents.
