HC-One’s Aston House care home in Hayes celebrated Diwali on Wednesday 7th November.
Diwali is the Hindu festival of lights, which is celebrated every autumn in the northern hemisphere. One of the most popular festivals of Hinduism, Diwali symbolises the spiritual "victory of light over darkness, good over evil and knowledge over ignorance."
As part of the celebrations, Davinder, a member of the team from Aston House made Chola, a traditional dish with a spicy naan bread as on option for Resident for their meal.
All of the team dressed up for the occasion and spoke with Residents about Diwali, some had never heard of the celebrations before but were keen to learn as much as possible.
