Hawthorn Court commemorate Remembrance DayResidents at HC-One’s Hawthorn Court Care Home in Hebburn, Tyne and Wear, spent the afternoon reminiscing about what life was life during the first and second World Wars.

Everyone was chatting about the air raids, bombings and the ration books that were issued at the time; they also discussed the children that were evacuated to the countryside for their own safety.

Whilst they reminisced, they also helped the team at Hawthorn Court make poppies to commemorate Armistice Day and to remember friends, family and everyone who served and died for their country.

It was an emotional afternoon but the Residents felt good for creating the poppies for their Remembrance Day display.
