Harvest festival celebrations at The ElmsHC-One’s The Elms care home were delighted to celebrate their harvest festival on Friday 27th September.

To begin the day, Colleague Jeanette dressed as a scarecrow and lead Residents in some gentle exercise with a ‘movement to music’ class.

A church service was then held by local Pastor Paul Kosciecha, and Residents and Relatives enjoyed singing along to the hyms and listening to the sermons, appreciating the importance of the harvest.

Before the day of the festival, Residents, Colleagues and Relatives had collected food donations, so on the day, they were presented to the church, who were extremely grateful as they stated the donations would be given to the Lodge Trust charity which helps support young adults with learning difficulties.

Katie Coulson, home manager, commented: “A fantastic day was enjoyed by all, and we are so proud of the donations given to the local charity.”
