HC-One’s St. Margaret’s care home opened its doors to welcome members of the local community in celebration of harvest festival on Friday 27th September.
In preparation for the harvest celebrations, Relatives, Colleagues and members of the local community have kindly donated items of food to the home’s collection which will be given to the local Durham foodbank.
During the harvest festival event, Reverend Barnaby from the local church held a service in the home, accompanied by pianist George who played hymns for all.
Ian Thompson, representative from Durham foodbank, gave thanks to the home for the generous contributions.
Katherine Swainston, Home Manager, commented: “Everyone has had a wonderful day today. We have been glad to donate to such a wonderful cause by contributing to our local foodbank.”
