This month at
Bankwood in Belper which offers residential and nursing care, Residents have enjoyed the Harvest Festival celebrations arranged by the Wellbeing Coordinators.
Bankwood started celebrating this year’s Harvest Festival with a church service, where Residents could also sing along with harvest songs that were playing. There was a traditional beef stew on offer for dinner which had been cooked by the care homes Head Chef, Lisa. She also had made an apple crumble with custard to come after the dinner.
Residents enjoyed the other activities that had been planned, such as scarecrow making and word searches. Residents also had the opportunity to get their photo taken with the Harvest Festival frame that had been made for the event.
Speaking afterwards, one Resident said, “What a lovely Harvest Festival this has been, the church service was beautiful” and another appears to have really enjoyed the food “Lisa’s apple crumble was sublime, I asked for seconds!”.
Sarah, the Deputy Home Manager said, “It has been a fantastic Harvest festival this year, Residents have really enjoyed themselves which brings us all a lot of joy”.
