Harefield care home welcomes NCS volunteersHC-One’s Cedar House care home were recently delighted to welcome a group of volunteers from youth organisation NCS.

NCS is an organisation which works with 16/17 year olds to teach life skills and ways to make a difference in their communities. The group visited the home and spent a day with the Residents, painting nails, playing various games, singing and gardening.

The gardening and nail supplies were provided through fundraising money that the group had previously generated, and the Residents thoroughly enjoyed feeling pampered for the afternoon.

Residents commented on how they enjoyed being around the young people who were full of joy, and learning more about their lives.

Patience Sibanda, Home Manager, commented: “It was wonderful to see the young volunteers bring such a big smile to the Residents’ faces. What a lovely afternoon.”
