Alice McNeil, a Resident at HC-One’s
Hinckley Park care home, in Hinckley, Leicestershire, celebrated her 100th birthday with her family, friends and fellow residents.
Ms McNeil’s family was keen that a big fuss was made of the birthday girl so one of the care home’s lounges was decorated with her favourite colours and filled with her favourite foods. Ms McNeil was presented with a delicious fairy light-sprinkled birthday cake adorned with a sparkling waterfall of candles and was surrounded by glittering balloons. Three generations gathered from across the country to celebrate the once-in-a-lifetime occasion.
Ms McNeil also received an abundance of cards and gifts from family and friends including, of course, a birthday card from King Charles and Queen Camilla.
After the party, Ms McNeil said:
"Thank you for everything. It's been a great day!"
Nigel McNeil, Ms McNeil’s son, said:
"We never thought that we'd see this day!"
Sukai Drammeh, Home Manager of Hinckley Park care home, said:
“Everyone at Hinckley Pak care home enjoyed wishing Alice a very happy birthday. We had a wonderful party, and it was a real joy to see Alice celebrating with three generations of her family together.”
