Guisborough care home wears pink in support of breast cancer charityHC-One’s Park House care home in Guisborough supported a national breast cancer charity by taking part in wear it pink day to raise vital funds and awareness on Friday 18th October.

Breast Cancer Now’s wear it pink day is one of the biggest fundraising events in the UK. Taking place during Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October, thousands of amazing people wear it pink in their communities, schools or work places for the UK's largest breast cancer charity, Breast Cancer Now.

To raise awareness and vital funds for the charity, Residents and team members at Park House wore pink and organised a cake stall, raffle and traditional sweet cart. During the afternoon, the team put on a special performance as ‘the pink ladies’ singing classic songs from Grease.

A great time was had by all, with Park House raising an impressive amount for Breast Cancer Now of over six hundred pounds. One Resident commented: “It was lovely to have everyone together raising money for such a worthwhile cause.

Park House Home Manager, Julie Woods said: “Thank you to everyone who supported our wear it pink day and contributed to the funds raised, the money will help support and save so many people’s lives.”
