As part of Black History Month, which is celebrated every October, colleagues at
HC-One’s Clarendon Hall care home, in Humberston, Grimsby, hosted a show and tell afternoon about Africa for all residents.
On Mondary 28th October Wellbeing Coordinator, Hayley Sandison, and Nurse, Nony Dube hosted a presentation where residents were shown all the different tribes of Zimbabwe, as well as the food and the traditional dances and music. Residents really enjoyed experiencing a different culture, especially as this is where Nony and other staff members at Clarendon Hall are from.
The group then virtually explored the most beautiful places and wonders of Africa via videos and had a taste of some delicious African food and drink.
Everyone said they had a lovely, interesting afternoon and gave Hayley and Nony a big clap at the end!
Toni Yardley, Deputy Manager at Clarendon Hall, commented:
"It was wonderful to see Nony and Hayley dressed up, dancing and including our residents in our African Day as part of Black History Month, which is special to us because so many of our staff come from Africa. All the residents thoroughly enjoyed it and learnt so much."
