Greenways Court enjoys traditional Burns Night celebrationsBurns Night celebrations were in full swing at Greenways Court care home in Consett as Residents enjoyed a number of traditional Scottish activities.

Kevin Reilly, an entertainer who visited the home for the occasion, played the pipe for Residents to address the haggis.

Residents also enjoyed hearing the story of Robert Burns, and had a chance to sample some haggis and a wee dram of whiskey.

Elizabeth Emmerton, a Resident, commented: “I had such a wonderful afternoon celebrating Burns Night.”

Tina Ayton, Home Manager, said: “Everyone really enjoyed celebrating Burns Night together. The bagpipe performance was particularly great, with some Residents getting emotional listening to the music.”
