Green-fingered Resident reminisces award-winning garden at The DaffodilsThe Daffodils care home in Merthyr Tydfil has helped 89 year old Resident Lennard Watkins reminisce about his passion for gardening as the home celebrated the start of spring.

Lennard has had many interests and hobbies in his lifetime but his greatest passion has always been for gardening.

His garden was beautiful as it was filled with a variety of flowers, shrubs, pots, plants and hanging baskets.

The plants and flowers adorned his walls, fences and window ledges and spread throughout his garden, filling every nook and cranny with a plethora of delightful colours and fragrances.

Lennard grew all of his plants and flowers from seed, winning many gardening certificates along the way. He was even the winner of Best Garden for ten consecutive years in the Merthyr Express.

He has really enjoyed sharing his memories of his gardening with Residents and staff at The Daffodils, especially as everyone is eagerly anticipating the blooming flowers in the garden during the warmer months.
