Grampian Court enjoy an action packed EasterHC-One’s Grampian Court in Peterlee had a fun-filled weekend in celebration of Easter.

The Easter bunny and his side kick, the Easter chick, paid the home a visit on Good Friday. The Residents challenged them to an Easter egg hunt where, equipped with clues from the Residents, the Easter bunny and chick took off around the home in search of the egg and the next clue.

Residents Ivy Cooper and Irene Harrison then challenged the bunny and chick, who decided to run it three-legged, to an egg and spoon race with Ivy and Irene crossing the finish line first. Everyone finished the day with an Easter raffle and bingo, with the winners receiving chocolate prizes.

On Easter Sunday, every Resident was wished a Happy Easter and presented with a Maltesers egg. After lunch, Residents from both floors came together in the lounge to enjoy the fantastic Jeff Wright.

Jeff impressed everyone with his amazing vocals as well as singing duets with his puppets and didn’t forget to add in humour throughout which had everyone in stitches.

After the entertainment, everyone enjoyed a buffet tea with a lemon Easter cake, lovingly made by Head of Service, Laura Stevenson.

Margaret Hunter, Sister in Law of Resident Maureen Dawes, commented:

“I’ve never known Maureen to want to get up and dance, you have brought back the sparkle into her eyes.”

Judith Tully, Home Manager at Grampian Court, commented:

“It’s always great to see the staff and Residents coming together and getting into the spirit of the day. Seeing the smiles on our Resident’s faces when they were visited by the Easter bunny and chick was priceless.”
