Grampian Court celebrate the Royal Wedding with their very own Meghan and HarryThe team from HC-One’s Grampian Court Care Home in Peterlee, County Durham, went above and beyond for their Royal Wedding celebrations to ensure the Residents had a day they would never forget.

In the lead up to the big day, Grampian Court was decorated with Union Jack bunting depicting the happy couple and flags. Residents and visitors all took a seat in the lounge in anticipation for the members of the Royal family to arrive and for the first glimpse of the bride.

In the afternoon, everyone was really excited to have a visit from Meghan and Harry – Julie McClurey, Wellbeing Co-Ordinator at Grampian Court, put her own wedding dress on and James Pearson, Care Assistant, dug out his best suit.

The happy couple visited every Resident and were more than happy to pose for photos with them all. During their meet and greet, the happy couple invited Residents and visitors to their wedding reception which was taking place later that day.

At 4pm Residents Maureen, Ivy, June, Margaret, Elizabeth and Iris all took their places at the top table ready to pose as other members of the Royal family before the bride and groom sat down and cut their wedding cake.

Everyone finished the day with a delicious buffet that was lovingly prepared by Trish and Debra, 2nd Chef and Head of Service at Grampian Court.

Resident Gwen Wood commented:

“Look at how many people have turned up at Windsor to watch the Royal Wedding, Princess Diana would have been so proud.”
