Gloucestershire care home Residents send cards to young pen palsResidents at HC-One’s Ilsom House care home in Tetbury have been writing back to their new pen pals both locally and in France.

Over the Christmas period, Residents at the home received kind gifts and cards from children at Avening Primary School and Forest School, both based in Tetbury.

However, they also received word from much further away as schoolchildren in France sent Christmas cards to the Residents as part of their English studies.

Children wished the Residents a merry Christmas and spoke a little bit about themselves, their hobbies and their stories.

One Resident commented: “How thoughtful of these children to send in these wonderful gifts, and what lovely handwriting they have.”

Now Residents are writing back to each school to show their appreciation for the children’s kind thoughts.

Ilsom House Home Manager, Tracey Connor, said: “A big thank you to the children from each of the schools.

“It was such a lovely gesture which the Residents very much appreciated.”
