Over the festive period, Residents at HC-One’s Ilsom House in Tetbury were delighted to receive Christmas cards from schoolchildren aged 13-14 all the way in France.
Each Resident opened their own Christmas card, written personally to them, and read their thoughtful message.
The schoolchildren told stories and talked about their thoughts and experiences of life in France and dealing with the current global pandemic.
One Resident, a retired teacher, was delighted with the effort the children put in.
They said: “Look how clear their writing is, especially considering their age. And their spelling is perfect.”
The cards were a perfect addition to an afternoon of tea, cake and relaxation, and the thoughtful messages from France sparked delight throughout Ilsom House.
The cards were organised by Estelle De Oliveira Maia, a Head Teacher in France, and lovingly handwritten by the children in her school.
Ilsom House Home Manager, Tracey Connor, said: “A huge thank you to Estelle and all the children, it was a lovely gesture and much appreciated.”
