HC-One’s Ailsa Craig Care Home in Cessnock, Glasgow go all out to ensure their Cupcake Day, a national fundraiser for The Alzheimer’s Society.
The event was held in the Dementia Care Unit at Ailsa Craig but included Residents and their families from all units in the home.
Residents, staff and relatives all mucked in to bake cakes ahead of the event and Residents painted bunting and signs to decorate the event. They had a fantastic time decorating the cakes prior to the event.
No competition is complete without a winner being announced and Resident Jean Lynch took the prize, commenting:
“I can’t believe I won the competition! Thank you so much for the chocolates.
We loved decorating the cakes, but we loved eating them even more!”
Marc Buchanan, a Resident for Alzheimer’s Scotland also came along and helped judge the competition. In total, the home raised a fantastic £100 – well done!
