Glanffrwd care home enjoys campfire-themed activities with Pencoed cubs, scouts and beaversGlanffrwd care home was delighted to welcome yet another lovely visit from Pencoed cubs, scouts and beavers for an afternoon of campfire-themed activities.

After performing a number of campfire songs for Residents, the group visited the home again to ask Residents questions as part of their Local Knowledge Activity Badge.

The boys came to find out what life was like when the Residents were younger, what changes they had seen in the local area over the years and their favourite memories growing up.

The Residents really enjoyed reminiscing with the children, and the group really enjoyed hearing all of the fascinating stories.

The afternoon finished with a drink and a snack over a few games of draughts and dominoes.

Ralph, a Resident at Glanffrwd, said: “It was brilliant to be able to help the children earn their next badge, I wish they could have stayed all day.”

Joan Thomas, Home Manager, said: “We’re so lucky to have such a wonderful community here in Pencoed, which enables us to give our Residents such a great variety of exciting visits and activities. We can’t wait to help the scouts, cubs and beavers achieve even more of their badges in the coming year.”
