Capwell Grange Care Home proudly present “Tired Tyres to Terrific Tyres”. Each house within the home (Mitre, Bonnetti, Hatley, Milliner and Fedora) had been tasked with upcycling three or four old rubber tyres each to show the personality of their house.
And they ended up with some fabulous creations:
A beautiful pink tea cup from Milliner and Hately House their Harmony Communities to show how they love to reminiscence over a cup of tea.
A wishing well from Bonnetti to show it is possible to return home following a period of re-enablement.
A rainbow that presents staying safe and the LGBTQ communities from Mitre to show the inclusivity of Capwell and how serious they are about staying safe in this time.
A gorgeous green frog called Fred from Mitre House to show their love for nature and animals.
Residents participated in these creations and judged to find a winner. Everyone was given flowers for their effort and the winner was given £50 to spend on their house.
Everyone did so well but the winner was Mitre house with the frog entry.
One Resident remarked, “It has been nice to create something that is displayed for everyone to see."
Home Manager, Heidi Scott, commented, “It was so inspiring to see the effort the Residents and Colleagues put into the creations, the end results are amazing and bring a smile to all.”
