
Residents at HC-One’s The Orchards care home in Birmingham enjoyed the return of the homes popular Gardening club this April.
On 14th April, all The Orchards care home Residents took part in the homes first Gardening club session of the year. The homes local Morrisons supermarket kindly donated some soil and sunflower seeds to the home to assist the Residents on their gardening endeavours.
Beryl, a Resident at The Orchards said: “I always loved sunflowers, since I was a little girl.”
The Orchards Maintenance Officer, Iain Mouzer, took charge and helped Residents with their gardening by providing all of the equipment, from plant pots, watering cans and personalised planting cups with each Residents name on.
Residents wanted to keep track of how their plants were coming along, so they thought putting their name on would be a great idea and they can’t wait to look at them to see how they look in the summer.
Pat, a Residents at The Orchards joked: “I am going to water mine with tea, its my favourite thing to drink.”
The Orchards is situated in the popular residential area of Shard End, east of Birmingham. This friendly, purpose-built care home with 72 beds offers nursing care.
