Furry Friends visit Grosvenor ParkResidents at HC-One’s Grosvenor Park care home were delighted to have recently received a visit from two representatives of Furry Friends.

Furry Friends is a form of animal therapy which involves harnessed rabbits visiting care homes. Residents were so pleased to have seen the beautiful animals as they were visited by a large black Rex rabbit, as well as a small slate grey Netherland Dwarf rabbit, with whom they enjoyed cuddling.

Everyone felt that the rabbits were so well behaved and affectionate as Residents wished they could have kept them at the home. For those unable to come to the lounge area for the visit, the rabbits also did room visits with their handler and Residents were especially pleased with this as they also enjoyed a cuddle.

An informative talk was given to Residents as the representatives advised on various aspects of the rabbits’ breeds, including their eating habits and life cycles. Residents remarked on how soft the rabbits coat was and that they enjoyed stroking them in their laps.

Jackie O’Callaghan, Home Manager, commented: “we have loved having the rabbits visit us today. Residents have enjoyed learning more about the animals and giving each one a cuddle.”
