The staff and Residents of
Fullarton, in Irvine, which offers nursing and nursing memory care for those living with dementia, weren’t put off by the miserable weather outside as they decided to have an indoor beach party!
The staff set the scene with appropriate backdrops and decorations and provided soft drinks, chocolate and crisps. Music began to play and that got everyone’s feet tapping and hands clapping.
Some Residents even enjoyed trying the Limbo dancing and it was also lovely to see the staff getting involved, though there was some cheating noted as they failed to get under the Limbo! Other Residents enjoyed some fishing and ten pin bowling.
When the Residents were asked what they liked most of the day, one replied “Everything, as it was a change from the normal and it was great fun, and everyone was happy”.
Another Resident commented, “That was fine, bring on the next themed day!”.
One Colleague said, “I am so pleased it went well and it was great hearing the laughter within the home”.
