Residents at HC-One’s Kirkwood Court care home in Kenton, Newcastle-upon-Tyne enjoyed some delicious fruit and smoothies to celebrate World Health Day.
World Health Day was Wednesday 7th April and is aimed to create awareness and highlight a priority area of concern for the World Health Organisation. The team at Kirkwood Court arranged a health trolley for the day filled with fresh fruits and healthy smoothies.
Residents enjoyed sampling the variety of fruit and choosing their favourite flavour smoothies to enjoy, everyone agreed that it was very refreshing. One Resident, Elizabeth Baker commented: “There’s nothing better than some nice fresh fruit.”
Kirkwood Court Home Manager, Angela Douglass said: “We promote a healthy and varied diet here at Kirkwood Court, our Residents regularly enjoy fruits so this trolley was very well received by all.”
