French themed afternoon at ThamesfieldResidents at HC-One’s Thamesfield care home enjoyed an afternoon of French food and drink as they marked the anniversary of Bastille Day.

Everyone enjoyed a delicious lunch consisting of French onion soup or Duck pate, followed by chicken cordon bleu. Residents enjoyed the lunch and were then able to choose between a French cheese board, or pear tarte tartin for dessert, much to everyone’s delight.

The dining area was decorated in French colours, with various French phrases placed on cards on the tables for Residents to practice.

To end the afternoon, Residents enjoyed being sat by the river as they watched the annual Swan Upping, watching the individuals in traditional dress.

Lina Nela, Home Manager, commented: “Residents have thoroughly enjoyed themselves today. Some of them had never tried French themed food, and I’m so glad everyone had a wonderful time.”
