HC-One’s Barleystone care home in Falkirk welcomed Pixie, a therapy pony from Fantasy Ponies on Thursday 27th February.
Pixie visited the home with her handler, Laura and owner, Dee, to spend some quality time with Residents in communal areas and in their bedrooms. Residents asked lots of questions about Pixie as they gave her lots of attention and cuddles.
Residents family members were surprised to find their loved one petting a pony when they turned up to visit them, everyone commented on much they enjoy it when animals come to Barleystone, especially when they are as well behaved as Pixie is.
Barleystone Home Manager, Karen Syme said: “Thank you to Dee, Laura and Pixie for coming to Barleystone today, animal therapy has such a positive impact on our Resident’s wellbeing.”
