Former Wakefield librarian celebrates a milestone birthdayResident Cicely Kaye who lives at HC-One’s Snapethorpe Hall Care Home in Wakefield celebrated her 100th birthday surrounded by her family, friends and fellow Residents.

Cicely was born in Wakefield and has lived in the area all of her life. She used to work at Wakefield Library and loved seeing and chatting to all of its visitors and has many fond memories to share of the time.

In her spare time, she was a keen dancer and remembers looking forward to the weekends, where she could spend her time at the local dance hall.

To mark this special milestone, Snapethorpe Hall put on a party for Cicely, which was attended by family, friends, members of the care team and fellow Residents, and presented her with a beautiful bouquet of flowers.

Daughters Nora and Judith, along with other family members, joined Cicely to celebrate her special day and she was thrilled to receive her card from the Queen.

Everyone enjoyed singing and dancing the afternoon away to entertainer Trevor Woodhead, a firm favourite at the home, before Cicely cut her cake to cheers and applause from her guests.

Cicely commented:

“Thank you for making my day so special.”

Snapethorpe Hall’s Wellbeing Coordinator, Michelle East commented:

“It’s been a real honour to help Cicely celebrate her 100th birthday and make lasting memories.”
