Flower power at Mayford care home HC-One’s The Grange care home in Mayford organised a summer flower project for Residents to participate in.

Residents planted sunflower seeds in individual pots back in June, over the last few months they have all watered and nurtured their flowers every day.

Fellow Residents, visitors and members of the care home have watched in anticipation as the sunflowers have bloomed and are now a beautiful addition to the home.

The project has been enjoyed by all, with Residents saying that they love the feeling of achievement that growing these wonderful sunflowers has given them.

A Resident at The Grange commented:

“I didn’t think I would be able to plant anything like this again, I loved seeing all of the flowers bloom.”

Dil Perera, The Grange Home Manager said:

“The flower project was a great success, it was lovely to watch Residents caring for their plants and taking such an interest in them every day. We hope to do more projects like this in the future.”
