A Resident at HC-One’s Tenlands care home in Ferryhill, County Durham has celebrated reaching her cent
Tenlands care home Resident, Catherine Carradus, or better known as Kitty in the home, turned 100 on 11th September and celebrated it with family, friends and even with a telegram from Her Majesty the Queen.
Kitty has enjoyed an amazing life, she had two children, three grandchildren, Linda, Tracey & Donna. She also has eight great grandchildren. Kitty got married when she was 25 years old when she worked in a factory in Chorley during the Second World War.
For her birthday treat, Colleagues at Tenlands care home treated kitty to a morning pamper session where Kitty could relax and chat to Colleagues whilst they spruced her up for her video calls later in the day.
Kitty, a Resident at Tenlands said: “I feel like a queen after having my hair and nails done.”
Later in the afternoon, Kitty along with some Colleagues at the home video called family and friends, who all wished her a happy birthday and congratulated her on reaching such a huge milestone.
After saying goodbye to her family and friends, Kitty finally opened her very special gift from the Queen, her 100th telegram, which read:
“I am so pleased to know that you are celebrating your one hundredth birthday on 23rd August 2020.
I send my congratulations and best wishes to you on such a special occasion.”
Tenlands Home Manager said: “Kitty had a fantastic day and loved every minute. Happiness is the secret to all beauty.”
