Feeling festive at Beaconsfield CourtResidents at Beaconsfield Court, residential care home, in Barnard Castle have been getting into the festive spirit.

Beaconsfield Court sponsored a Christmas tree at St Mary’s Church in Barnard Castle, for the
Christmas festival.

The Residents got together and decided they wanted the theme the decoration of the tree around the Christmas movie ‘Elf’. Four Residents from the care home went to St Mary’s to decorate the tree.

The Christmas festival was held over two day, locals were able to visit the church to enjoy mulled
wine and mince pies.

It was really nice for some of the Residents to visit the church and they really enjoyed it.

One Resident, commented, “We were very proud of the tree.”

Care Home Manager, Laura Langridge, added, “The Residents really enjoyed coming up with ideas on how to decorate the tree. A lot of thought and creativeness went into it.”

As well as designing the Christmas tree, Beaconsfield Court held a virtual Christmas fayre and invited visitors via Zoom calls.

There was a tombola, raffle, guess the name, guess how many sweets are in the jar and bake sale.

Everyone had a great day and raised a huge total of £280.00, all of which goes towards the Christmas gift fund for the Residents.

Laura, commented, “This is the second year we have held the Christmas fayre virtually, it was a great success again.”
