Many Residents at HC-One’s
Knowles Court, nursing care and residential care home, in Bradford have been busy with lots of activities this month.
This month the Residents celebrated: International Kite Day, International Pizza Day and Valentine’s Day.
Residents were assisted to make kites in arts and crafts. Unfortunately, there was no wind, so the kites were unable to fly.
Residents, Jean and Barbara, said, “We loved making the kites, it was fun and a different activity to what we have previously done.”
Another activity for the Residents was pizza making. Residents made the dough from scratch, added their own toppings then ate them as an afternoon snack.
Valentine’s Day is a great event for the Residents as they are able to do lots of activities. They started off by making lots of cards to be posted out to
Relatives and loved ones.
Gerry, one of the Residents involved in the card making, was so thankful to make his wife a card he was emotional.”
On the 14th of February, Residents made homemade cupcakes, heart shaped cookies, and chocolates which were enjoyed with a drink of choice.
All the activities throughout February have been a great hit with the Residents, one Resident, remarked, “I enjoy socialising with other Residents and
doing the arts and crafts, we all have a laugh and joke with each other.”
Samantha Whinray, Care Home Manager, added, “We have had such a busy February here at Knowles Court and we are only halfway through! It was great to see the Residents reminiscing about making kites with carrier bags and string when they were younger.”
