Fantastic fundraising as Lincoln care home hosts MacMillan coffee morningWillow Court care home in Cherry Willingham, Lincoln was overjoyed to have raised £268 at its coffee morning in support of MacMillan Cancer Support.

Colleagues at Willow Court put on their chef hats to bake a variety of sweet treats for the fundraiser, including fairy cakes, cupcakes and brownies.

Residents were joined by their loved ones for the coffee morning, as they had a lovely catch up over a slice of cake and cup of tea.

Everyone decided that Care Assistant Katie should be crowned best baker for her delicious, traditional fairy cakes. Manager Jo won the prize for ‘Best Faked’ with her chocolate caramel cupcakes, while Sue won second prize for her fruit cake.

The fundraising efforts were increased with a silent auction, which saw a bespoke cake donated by Cherry Blossom Cake Designs selling for £35.

Jo Keenan, Home Manager at Willow Court, said: “It was great to see so many smiling faces from the local community in our home, as we raised such a brilliant amount of money for MacMillan’s coffee morning.”
