Colleagues at HC-One’s Kinnaird Manor care home in Falkirk organised a Christmas pyjama day for the home, to kickstart this year’s festivities.
At Kinnaird Manor, Christmas is celebrated properly. Colleagues at the home have decided to arrange a festive event for every Thursday in the run up to Christmas. The first of these Thursdays was a Christmas themed pyjama and movie day. Staff at the home paid £1 to wear their pyjamas to work to raise money for the Residents fund which was a great success.
“Wouldn't it be great if we could just stay in our pyjamas all the time,” said Betty, a Resident at Kinnaird.
Not everyone wanted to be in pyjamas, so their decision was respected, but Colleagues made sure that everyone had a lovely, festive time. Colleagues screened a selection of Christmas movies along with a couple of Disney classics for Residents.
During the screenings, Residents discussed what their favourite things about Christmas were with the most popular answer being the dinner followed closely by presents and spending time with family.
Kinnaird Manor Home Manager, Donna Stewart said: “There seems to be a much more relaxed atmosphere when everyone is in their pyjamas. I think we should have a pyjama day every month.”
