Fairview Care Home have organised a new activity called Lingo Flamingo to enhance communication and improve concentration for their Residents.
The workshops aim to provide dynamic and interactive language workshops in a series of 8 sessions. Residents enjoyed their first session where they were learning Spanish.
In keeping with the Spanish theme, Tapas were laid out for everyone at the Lingo Flamingo class as well as a variety of refreshments.
The Residents that participated all loved being together and learning a new skill.
Lingo Flamingo is just one of the activities that Residents have enjoyed in February. They enjoyed cuddles with a rabbit and a guinea pig as well as facing their fears with a snake and a rat. They had a visit from their pet therapy dog whom the Residents love giving kisses and cuddles.
Denise Fowler, Fairview’s Home Manager, commented:
“It’s never too late to learn new and enriching skills.”
