Ex armed forces residents visit local Blue Monkey BrewerySaturday 5th August saw residents and staff members take a tour of the local Blue Monkey Brewery tour.
Residents Charlie Birth, John Holmes, Eric Hallam, Ken Wade, and his son Mark all attended the brewery tour.

All of the residents who attended have been in the British armed forces and they had a fantastic day out.

The day consisted of being shown how beer was made, sampling different types of Blue Monkey Beer, and then to ensure everyone had a full stomach, residents and staff members enjoyed a pub lunch on the way home.
Residents were given a beer to take back to Silverwood and, on top of that as a thank you to the residents from Blue Monkey, all visitors received a Blue monkey glass to take back home too.

Blue Monkey Brewery was born on the border of Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire in 2008.

In 2010 they built a lovely shiny new brewery in Giltbrook where they are now capable of producing up to 20,000 pints of beer a week!

Lots of smiles, laughs and all seemed very happy on the day.
