Essex care home invites community to special opening of their new 10 bedded private residential commHC-One’s Godden Lodge Care Home in Thundersley, Benfleet, Essex, will be opening their doors to their local community, prospective residents and their families for an Open Day event on 2nd May, from 1pm – 4pm, to celebrate the opening of their new 10 bedded private residential, Appleton House community, named after Sir Roger Appleton, celebrating the local history of the home. 

Godden Lodge Care Home has benefitted from an exciting c. £30,000 investment to create the new Appleton House community which was completed at the end of February 2025. 

The open day will provide the local community, prospective residents and their families an opportunity to have a tour of the home and explore the exceptional facilities, meet the dedicated team, and discover what makes Godden Lodge a standout choice for care in Essex.

Godden Lodge, a 133 bedded residential, nursing and dementia care home, combines state-of-the-art facilities with excellence in personalised care to ensure residents enjoy the best possible quality of life.

The Open Day event will provide visitors with an opportunity to see first-hand the exceptional lifestyle offered at Godden Lodge, where details are designed to promote independence and personalised care with residents' comfort, dignity, wellbeing, and happiness in mind.

Residents living at Godden Lodge Care Home within the Appleton House community which is an independent community are able to enjoy sustainable, modernised and enhanced living environments - including the enhanced décor inside and outside of the care home, patio areas connected to bedrooms, an outdoor dining area following on from the lounge, redecoration of communal areas, upgraded lounge such as new flooring, furniture and decorations, and a newly decorated garden area. 

Residents living in the Appleton House community will benefit from the home’s wellbeing programme, use of minibus to go on excursions as well as a bookable private-dining service.
