Yoga is one of the staple activities at the Harefield. Residents love it as it helps them to get gentle exercise. It's a great way for them to see their friends and, most importantly, it is a brilliant laugh!
“It's always a great activity to keep their spirits up,” commented James Linton, Wellbeing Coordinator. James loved seeing Oda's face light up. She was delighted to have the opportunity to engage in her old hobbies.
Resident Oda Prestwich, pictured with James, never misses a session. She loves the exercises and is one of the best students. As a young lady, she practised and taught yoga herself.
Colleagues invited Oda to lead today's session and she had a brilliant time. She loved imparting her knowledge onto the other Residents, who thoroughly enjoyed learning from their dear friend.
Resident Ken Standen remarked, “Oda did a great job and it was great seeing her at the front of the group.”
Oda commented that she was pleasantly surprised to be asked to lead the group. She “adored” teaching the other Residents.
Home Manager, Mary, remarked “This was a great way of encouraging Oda to participate in her past passions.”
