Elvis swings by Stockton care home to entertain Residents and MayoressElvis put on his blue suede shoes and shimmied his way into HC-One’s Victoria House recently as the care home welcomed Mayoress Eileen Johnson and her consort Councillor Paul Kirton to their latest open day.

Residents and staff were on hand to greet members of the community at the refurbished home, which now boasts new lounges, carpets, dining areas and new furnishings, with a vintage tearoom currently in the progress of being installed.

Guests were treated to entertainment from a magician and a 1940’s singer before tucking into a mouthwatering buffet and a glass of bubbly. Visitors, including the Mayoress, were also invited to get their blood pressure checked thanks to The Stroke Association.

Victoria House’s Home Manager, Joanne Holmes commented:

“We had an amazing day with fabulous weather!

I would like to say a massive thank you to everyone who came to our home and was involved in making it a truly memorable day that we will all cherish for a long time.”

Diane, a relative of a Victoria House Resident, added:

“It was a great afternoon and was lovely to see all of the Residents in the garden with the singer.

Staff did a really good job and outdid themselves with food and refreshments. It was lovely to watch all of the Residents enjoy themselves with the staff.”

Victoria House provides residential, nursing and dementia care to elderly ladies and gentlemen within the local community. Residents benefit from en-suite bathrooms, a garden, hair salon, full activities itinerary and a minibus for getting out and about in the community.
