One of our much-loved Residents of Maple Lodge care home, celebrated her 103rd birthday this month, and a lovely party was thrown for everyone to enjoy.
Ellen Aikin had a birthday filled with delightful surprises including music, company, cake and a new do! Colleagues at the home arranged for Ellen to have a hair done on the morning followed by a party. Decorations from banners to balloons filled the room as well as a beautiful cream cake, flowers and glasses of wine all round!
Residents and staff sang ‘Happy Birthday’ to Ellen, and she spoke saying that she loved her cards and presents, and said ‘Thank you’ to everyone involved.
Ellen had a very special day; she loved all the decorations and said everyone was very kind.
Maple Lodge’s Home Manager commented, “What a wonderful way to celebrate turning 103! All the Residents and staff played an important role in making the day special for her. Well done everyone.”
