Murrayfield House care home in Edinburgh, had a fantastic day out in Ratho taking part in a fun activity.
It was a beautiful day for the annual Ratho Barge trip. Three Residents Elizabeth Haddow, Harry Rumney and John Greenwood from Glendevon and Fettes units were excited for a lovely trip out.
The Residents were really looking forward to the trip. One Resident, commented, “I wonder what animals we will see!”
Seagull Trust Cruises support people in Scotland offering them free trips along the canals, and the closet branch to HC-Ones Murrayfield House is in Ratho. They have three boats available and are fully accessible for everyone.
The volunteers from the Seagull trust were very kind and gave lots of information to the Residents about the boats and the animals they saw along the way.
Everyone enjoyed a beautiful picnic whilst sailing peacefully along the barge.
This is one of the first trips the Residents have been on since the start of the pandemic and they were thrilled to be back out enjoying the beautiful surrounding areas of Edinburgh.
The Residents enjoyed seeing all the wonderful nature whilst they sat back, relaxed, and watched the world go by. Everyone had a great time and they said, “It was very well organised, we will have to come back again.”
