Eckington care home grows community connections with tree planting projectApril Park care home in Eckington was delighted to grow new links with the local community as they helped plant trees with Birkhill Infants School.

When Colleagues and Residents at April Park heard that the school was creating a new woodland walk for the children to enjoy, they were keen to get involved and were thrilled to be invited to a tree planting session.

Residents were delighted to meet the school children, as students got to work on creating the woodland walk with Residents giving them positive words of encouragement.

One Resident commented: “It was so lovely to see everyone working as a team and creating the woodland walk for the children.”

Gail Wardle, Home Manager at April Park, said: “We are dedicated to supporting our local community in any way possible here at April Park. As we are also committed to helping the environment, the woodland walk project seemed like the perfect way to get involved!”
