Eastbourne House helps local animal shelter with Knit and Natter groupMembers of the Knit and Natter group at Eastbourne House care home in Whitley Bay are helping their local cat and dog shelter by knitting blankets for the animals.

The knitting sessions, which are a popular activity for Residents at Eastbourne House, help those involved to maintain hand-eye coordination and are successful when teaching others new skills.

The blankets, which are currently being knitted by the group, will be donated to cats and dogs at the shelter who are waiting to be rehomed.

One Resident commented: “Knitting is one of my favourite pastimes, so I am even more delighted that I can put my talents to good use and help keep the animals warm over winter.”

Debbie White, Home Manager at Eastbourne House, said: “It’s fantastic to see the success of our Knit and Natter group, with Residents working together to share their skills and helping out such a great cause.”
