East Whitburn care home works on community museum projectResidents at HC-One’s Redmill care home in East Whitburn have been invited to take part in the commission of a painting which will be displayed in a new partnership centre.

A new partnership centre is being built in the local community, which will combine the council and a library which houses a small community museum. After meetings between the council and the Lord Lieutenant, Redmill was invited to be part of the history of the village which is displayed in the museum.

Residents were asked if they would like to participate in the commission of a painting which will be displayed in the new partnership centre. The artist and museum manager visited Redmill to spend time with Residents and discuss the plans for the painting, Residents shared their ideas and chatted about the history of the village.

One Resident commented: “It’s important to remember our local history, I pleased to be part of this project and I look forward to seeing the finished painting.”

Sharon Maxwell, Home Manager at Redmill said: “Everyone at Redmill is delighted to be part of the museum project, it was lovely to welcome Lucy and Emma to our home and find out more about the painting.”
