Durham care home welcomes new spiritual guideHC-One’s Melbury Court care home in Durham is welcoming its new Anna Chaplain, Karen into the home twice a month to offer spiritual guidance and support for Residents, friends, family and team members.

Anna Chaplains are named after the widow, Anna, who appears with Simeon in Luke’s gospel; both are good role models of faithful older people. They offer spiritual support to older people living in care homes and sheltered housing as well as their loved ones and the staff who care for them.

Karen will be visiting Melbury Court every first and third Wednesday of the month, providing her support and prayers for Residents living in the home as well as their nearest and dearest.

Melbury Court Home Manager, Nicola Coulson said: “Karen is a wonderful lady and her visits are enjoyed by everyone at Melbury Court. We are the only home in the area which receives support from an Anna Chaplain and Karen is amazing at what she does.”
