Durham care home wears pink in support of breast cancer charityHC-One’s St Margaret’s care home in Durham supported a national breast cancer charity by taking part in wear it pink day to raise vital funds and awareness on Friday 18th October.

Breast Cancer Now’s wear it pink day is one of the biggest fundraising events in the UK. Taking place during Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October, thousands of amazing people wear it pink in their communities, schools or work places for the UK's largest breast cancer charity, Breast Cancer Now.

To raise money for the Breast Cancer Now, the team organised a bake sale with delicious homemade cakes prepared by the kitchen team. Residents were impressed with the turnout and commented on how great it felt to support such a worthwhile cause.

St Margaret’s home manager, Katherine Swainston said: “Thank you to everyone who participated and supported our wear it pink day, the money raised will go towards helping people affected by breast cancer and to support the lifesaving research.”
